  • 4 slices Sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 2 slices Sliced tomatoes Preferably fresh
  • 5 leaves Fresh basil leaves For flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Extra virgin for best flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar Adds a tangy flavor
  • to taste Salt For seasoning
  • to taste Pepper For seasoning

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the focaccia bread in half horizontally.
  2. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar on both halves.
  3. Layer sliced mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and fresh basil leaves on the bottom half.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Place the top half of the focaccia on the sandwich.
  6. Cut into portions and serve immediately.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, serve with crunchy potato chips or a colorful salad. Leftovers can be wrapped and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Toast in the toaster oven for a few minutes to revive the crunch.
