  • 1 banana Use a slightly overripe banana for added sweetness.
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries Can substitute frozen blueberries if off-season.
  • 2-3 ripe dates, pitted Adjust quantity for desired sweetness.
  • 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of choice) Feel free to use soy or coconut milk as alternatives.
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds Optional; adds extra nutrition.
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt Optional; for a protein boost.
  • to taste Ice cubes Optional; for a chilled smoothie.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a blender, combine the banana, blueberries, dates, almond milk, and chia seeds, plus the Greek yogurt if you’re using it.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. If you prefer a chilled smoothie, toss in some ice cubes and blend again until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Notes

Serve in a tall glass and top with chia seeds or whole blueberries for presentation. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours. For frozen storage, pour into ice cube trays and blend the cubes with a little milk later.
