  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries Using frozen blueberries will result in a frosty smoothie.
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional) Can be omitted for less sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a blender, combine rolled oats, milk, blueberries, banana, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. If desired, add ice cubes and blend again until smooth.
  4. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For a thicker or creamier smoothie, add more oats or a scoop of Greek yogurt. For variations, try swapping blueberries for strawberries or mangoes, and use chia seeds if you don't have oats.
