Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Main Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup cold butter (cubed) Keep cold for flakiness.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Grate fresh for best results.
  • 1 cup buttermilk Or substitute with milk and vinegar.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter For brushing on top.
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley Optional garnish for additional flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cubed cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the cheddar cheese.
  5. Gradually add the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Do not overmix!
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, dried parsley, and garlic salt. Brush this mixture over the warm biscuits before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the fridge or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the oven until warm.
