  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed Use very ripe bananas for the sweetest flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour You can substitute half with whole wheat flour for a heartier loaf.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Feel free to swap with dark chocolate chips or add nuts.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the mashed bananas with the melted butter.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and salt.
  4. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  5. Gradually add the flour, stirring until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  2. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Let it cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days at room temperature, a week in the fridge, or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds.
