Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup plus more for topping
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix well until just combined. Don’t overmix; you want it tender!
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  5. Top with a layer of ketchup for that sweet, tangy finish.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour, or until cooked through.
  7. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a creative presentation, pair it with creamy mashed potatoes, serve with a fresh side salad, or drizzle with gravy.
