Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (fat-free)
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp) Can be substituted with instant yeast
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar Use maple syrup for a vegan option
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and honey. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt and the yeast mixture to the flour, and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Rising
  1. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  4. Let it rise for another 20-30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Allow cooling before slicing.

Notes

Don’t rush the dough rising—patience is key for that fluffy texture. Add herbs or spices for extra flavor. For a lighter loaf, consider swapping half the all-purpose flour for whole wheat flour.
