Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Basic flour for the dough
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast Used for leavening
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Activates yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water Temperature around 110°F (43°C)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Adds richness to the dough

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Stir until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour. Alternatively, refrigerate overnight for a slower rise.
Baking
  1. Punch down the dough and roll it out to fit your pizza pan.
  2. Top with your favorite ingredients and bake at 475°F (245°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or garlic powder to the flour. If you're short on time, skip the long rise and bake it after the first rise! Keep the dough floured to prevent sticking. Experiment with different flours like whole wheat for a nutty taste. Don’t be shy with the toppings!
