Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add the applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
- In another bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Combining
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- If you're feeling adventurous, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
Notes
Slice and serve warm, perhaps with Greek yogurt, honey, or fresh berries. Storage: Wrap tightly and keep in the fridge for 4-5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
