  • 3 medium ripe bananas Use overripe bananas for added sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Ensure it's fully melted.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Reduce to 3/4 cup for less sweetness.
  • 1 large egg, beaten Can substitute with flaxseed meal for vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Sprinkle over mixture.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Mix gently.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Fold in gently.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Mix in the melted butter until well incorporated.
  4. Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla; stir until combined.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then mix in the flour until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm for a delicious treat. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat slices in the microwave for a few seconds before serving.
