Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is combined (it will be thin).
Baking
  1. Divide the batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.

  2. Once the cakes are cool, place one layer on a serving plate, spread a layer of frosting, then place the second cake layer on top.
  3. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
  4. Decorate with fresh strawberries as desired. Enjoy your Strawberry Chocolate Cake!

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and high-quality fresh strawberries. Store leftovers tightly covered for 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
