Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Gradually stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Assembly
- Once cooled, layer the cakes with dark chocolate mousse in between.
- Top the assembled cake with white chocolate ganache for a beautiful finish.
- Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
Notes
For better results, use room temperature ingredients and chill your mousse before layering. Level the cakes for a neat look and adjust sweetness as needed.
